I would like to know the need for control of black cocoa ant Dolichoderus thoracicus in Southeast Asian countries and regions. A low-cost, labor-saving control program using hydrogel bait, which was developed for community-wide control of the white-footed ant Technomyrmex brunneus, could be applicable to D. thoracicus.

I see, very interesting. The impacts seem to be quite opposite among countries and regions. In Taiwan, the non-native lineage of the species has recently caused outbreaks and become a serious agricultural pest that can accelerate the damages caused by homopteran insects in orchards, and in suburban areas, it is also a nuisance pest.
