I tried to find any simple spectrophotometric method for the determination of Atorvastatin and Ezitimibe during in vitro release study of these drugs combination?
All the present methods determine the amount of theses drugs only in pharmaceutical dosage form not for in vitro release study
Dear Ahmed, the UV spectra of atorvastatin and ezetimibe seem to be sufficiently different to allow for simultaneous spectrophotometric detection in the in-vitro dissolution (release) liquids. You may need to apply two point measurement or some other mathematical approach to extract the data for both analytes from the spectrum. You can probably use one of the methods published for the dosage forms as a starting point and adapt it for the concentrations found in the dissolution liquids, you may also need to adjust the pH of the sample. If there are some interfering compounds in the placebo (like UV absorbing organic resins used to delay the release of the active ingredients from the tablet) you may try liquid-solid or liquid-liquid extraction to get rid of the interference.
