I am working on a paper. I mentioned that 1 percent Argon is in the flow of an exhaust gas. However I forgot the reference. Can you help me to find a reference?
Argon can be added to increase the thermal efficiency in Diesel engines, and more recently, NG engines. It is usually added by replacing some of the N2 in the intake air by Argon. So, essentially a specific mixture of N2 and Ar is used. Since Ar is very stable against high temperature and oxygen, it won't burn and will exit the exhaust at the end of the cycle.
