Hello, what I want to ask: How do you decide which area of the tumour ist the best for counting? How do you go on with, if there in one slide are areas without any signals, for example good signals in the periphere and no signals in the center ? How do you interpretate, if there are only green ( control ) signals , is it loss of 1p or 19q, or will we have to do it again ?

The primary requisite for scoring slide is
(i) signals should be seen in all the areas( if signals are seen in periphery and not in centre,then there would be some technical problem with probe addition or in post-hyb washes)
(ii) To decide whether a tumor cell is positive or negative,atleast each representative signal of FITC and TRITC should be present.( means u can count 1G 1O, 2G 1O,1G 20 but u cannot count 0G 2R /021O/1G0O)
My suggestion would be to process slide once again and then look at signals.
