By using MATLAB R2016a and Raspberry Pi 3 Model B, I have designed a device that can be used to detect drowsiness by analyzing the facial expressions (High-Level Design Attached). The device works wirelessly and gives good results but it turns ON and OFF by RUN MATLAB code itself. Is there any way to make the device work as stand-alone ( like a product )?

You can yourself produce a C- code for the signal processing you carry out by Matlab tool box on the Laptop and execute it directly on the Raspberry. The other solution is to use compilers from Matlab to the C -code. The problem is that the raspberry pi may not suitable as a computing platform for the system.
So, you can perform the signal processing tasks using digital signal processing DSP. There are DSP boards already that can be targeted by the matlab code.
In this way you can make your system portable and stand alone with minimum code development.
So, finally you can substitute your laptop+ matlab by a DSP . Your role now is to choose suitable DSP. You may use texas instrument DSPs.

Using 'matlab engine' in Python could be a viable solution. Matlab website give guidance to do this on Linux. You will have to run your matlab scripts and functions using Python.

We haven't done this for Raspberry Pi, but it works for Ubuntu. It would be worth to give a try.
