Seeds of Viola odorata germinate hardly and we have low emergency in the field. we can propagate it via stolon.Can anyone say a good experience to increase seed germination percentage?
Viola would need stratification treatment for proper germination. Have a look at the following website for details of the procedure. It will also be good to keep the seeds in darkness during imnbibation and germination - it might increase germination percentage. If it does not work then gibberelic acid treatment or KNO3 treatment may be a good option.

GA-3 will in most cases eliminate the need for stratification. The exact concentration required will vary between species but I have found a 24 hour soak in 500-1000 ppm aqueous GA-3 solution to be fairly effective and have not yet found it to produce excessive etiolation or other undesirable effects.
One simple thing that you can use is put the seeds in cotton embedded in water, after this, keep in storage cold (refrigerator - avoid freezing) during 4 to 6 weeks. Look this during all days until germination. After germination just change for a potted with soil.
