I want to translate Amsterdam Preoperative Anxiety and Information Scale (APAIS) in to a language mostly spoken by my research participants
After translating the questionnaire, do a pilot study (field-study ,one-shot Study) and give the questionnaire to some (more than 20 people) people in your population (not sample). After gathering the data, enter them in SPSS and check the reliability of the questionnaire, if it was reliable you can check item analysis in order to check the validity of the questionnaire as well. Following Mr. Alipour's procedure, you should also do a factor analysis. Exploratory Factor analysis (EFA) folowed by a Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) assure you that the same factors found in the original instrument are also found with your participants.
