Is there any specific methodology available to estimate the volume of horticulture (fruit) trees without harvesting the fruit tree. So that the Biomass and Carbon sequestration potential of Horticulture trees can be estimated which is very important.

Height and diameter allometry equations are very helpful in this regard. However the equations are tree species and location specific as well. But if required allometry equation is not available for the particular location than universal allometry equation may be used. The following link may be helpful in this reference

Dear Arvind you already know answer . For volume estimation of all trees either fruit , timber, pulp, plywood etc is same means taking direct observation of height and diameter and developing allometric equation for particular site or region by harvesting few sample trees or use already developed equation for that tree. of course for carbon estimation tree trunk coring methods can also be used without harvesting tree. otherwise same volume, biomass and carbon is applying universally unless you wish to specifically want for particular tree for deeper research.
This is a very good question which we should have attempted long back to define the carbon credit reserve we have through these horticulture crops , especially those are of perennial nature. Even the carbon sink capacity of some of the fruit crops is far higher than forests. Nondestrucive method could be only the application geospatial tools applying imageries..
It is too important question because we faced a real problem in this issue due to the differences between growth habit of fruit crops from forest trees.
