Is there any specific definition for nonlinear springs which are used as soil structure interface in ssi problems?

Hello

I want to model a shallow foundation with uplift and rocking ability in OPENSEES. Soil structure problem has been modeled by direct method and I want to define an appropriate interface element. I know that no tension zero length springs have been proposed by many researchers but I want to know about the characteristics of these springs such as stiffness. Is it possible to use nonlinear winkler springs as interface element?
