When a high power laser irradiates a solid surface, material is ablated to form plasma. The mass ablated may depend on fluence, wavelength of laser, target material, etc., Is there any scaling law for the (approximate) mass ablated which can be determined from fluence of the laser, at least for Nd:YAG laser?
There could be one at last at low fluence. Above 10 J/cm2 the explosive boiling starts. However, the plasma absorption changes everything in a fashion hard to predict. At UV (excimer lasers) the effect of plasma absorption is lower. See the comparison of ablation by different harmonics of Nd laser:

For single laser shot you may assume the crater as a hemisphere and you can calculate ablated mass which should depend on laser fluence (F).See the attached file.
