I am trying to survey potting junction box for PV module. Some reports indicate that potting type might have a higher risk for hot spot and reliability issues than non-potting type junction box. Can you share reliability concerns, a case study or papers for potting junction box?

We usually do not pot the junction box, but is sounds like a good idea. In general in factory environments I have not experienced problems with potting. Perhaps you can contact this supplier and speak to one of the technicians:
