1) sin²θ = Sinθ *Sinθ ?????????????

Or

2) Sin²θ² = Sinθ*Sinθ ????????????

Or

3) sin²θ = Sin(Sinθ) ??????????

Every book has the answer : 1) sin²θ = Sinθ *Sinθ.

Why is trigonometry so special to have this answer ?

The universal convention in mathematics for writing f(f(x)) is f2(x); and for writing (f(x))(f(x)) is (f(x))2. But, this convention is violated in trigonometry. More specifically; sin(sin x) is not written as sin2x; whereas (sin x)2 is written as sin2x. This contradicting conventions confuses science students and science teachers. Is there any forum to declare that these conventions in trigonometry are modified?
