Rain Use Efficiency (RUE) is a very good indicator of land degradation but mostly in drylands, where the main constraint for plant growth is water availability. But if the constraint of water is not so marked as in dryland, or maybe the main constraint is another environmental factor as cloudiness or the temperature, is there any other indicator (in remote sensing science) that is able to highlight land degradation?
