When talking about micron size ceramic particulate opacifier for RSI tiles(Reusable surface insulation, for example, a patented process US patent 4148962), we know there are two types of opacifier. One is reflection type, like TiO2 and ZrO2, the other type is high emittance powders, like SiC, MoSi2, etc. First, am I right to category the powders into two types? and Second, I don't know which type is better for high temperature service environment. Third, I know that the working temperature is corelated to the infra-red emittance distribution, I have to ask: Is there any conclusion on the corresponding relations between TPS working temperature range(for example, 1000~1400 degree C) and optimal opacifier size distribution (for example, a normal distribution with a mean value of ?? and a variance of ??)? Any good suggestions? Thank you.
