This spirometer needs to be attached to a PC or Laptop. There is another version with printer, it is a little bit more expensive. Please check at COSMED site.
I can recommend NDD's Easy on-PC (http://www.ndd.ch/index/easy-on-pc-euro). The company also offers a compatible research software tool (WBreath, freeware, http://www.ndd.ch/index/webapp-search-action?query=wbreath). I used the standard sized "Spiroson" (flow sensor; sensors come in four different sizes, if I remember correctly) to record tidal volumes in phocid seals. The flow sensor is connected via USB to a PC/laptop. It is sturdy, low-maintenance, and does not need calibration, only baselining before measurement to prevent zero offset in recordings. The Spiroson is a transit-time ultrasonic flow meter (http://theultrasonicflowmeters.com/flowmeas-transittime.htm).
