Hi.
Does anybody know a membrane that only permeates water (extremely low permeability to ions)?
I would like to make a system that, when pressure is applied to a chamber in which a certain concentration of salt is dissolved, only water (not salt ions) escapes from the chamber through the membrane (prefer synthetic membrane due to the stability.
I will appreciate to your any comments.

Depends on the ion radius... for small ions (Na+, Cl-, ...) it may be impossible to find such a material, but maybe you can find a material with pore sizes that allow water (approx. 275pm) to pass, but stop very large ions with sizes >300pm. But i don't know if there are ions with this size.
