i am having one doubt whether is there any limits for the parameters which are used in wiedemann 99 car following model for any given road way conditions?
Wiedemann 99 car-following model is in many ways similar to Wiedemann 74 carfollowing model , except that some of the thresholds in the 99 model are defined in a different (sometimes, simpler) way to model freeway traffic better.
You will find the following link useful especially chapter 3.
Widemann 99 car following model have ten parameters and the model is more suitable to replicate freeway traffic. The range of values depend on the roadway characteristics. For instance, the range of values is different for conventional lane based and non-lane based mixed traffic. Sensitive parameters should be identified beforehand by a sensitivity analysis (ANOVA), then further optimization (GA) is required.
Dr. Tom V. Matthew and Dr. Brian Park has published some interesting research on this topic. Hope this helps.
So far I have not found any such literature where ranges of all 10 parameters are established. The value of parameters are generally increased or decreased untill the measure of effectiveness such as delay or flow reaches its threshold limit. If you have found a better approach by now please let us know.
