Infected people generate fine and ultrafine infectious bioaerosols (size of the exhaled particles below 1µm) by normal breathing (no coughing/sneezing) (Edwards et al., 2004; Fabian et al., 2008; Chen et al., 2009; Tellier, 2009; Johnson and Morawska, 2009; Milton et al., 2013; Cowling et al., 2013; Lindsley et al., 2016).

Unfortunately I do not have any data on the generation of infectious aerosols by guinea pigs or mice during normal breathing.
