It is a hot topic in the electrical engineering area called "the energy internet", which aims to incorporate different types of energies together, while managing and utilizing the energy in a macroscopic point of view.
However, is there any in-depth consistency between energy and information? If it is true, then some of the concepts, methodologies etc of the "information network" can be used to deal with the "energy internet", while a lot of issues in current power network can be explained in a totally different way.

Yes, that is exactly what I mean. In fact, my major is electrical engineering, and I have learned how to deal with the electrical power system as a giant network to transfer energy. However, I have been thinking if the network transfering electrical energy can be analogized as the internet, which is also a large network, but is transfering information.

Karl-Erik Eriksson from Chalmers in Sweden introduced me (a very long time ago) to an interesting relation between information gain and minimum power needed. It turns out that protein synthesis in cells lies just above the limit, so it seems to be physically relevant. First one defines the physical information Iphys= - dS/(k ln2). Now the minimum work to aquire it is Wmin = (k ln2) T Iphys (i.e. a TdS-term). Thus the minimum power Pmin = Wmin/dt is Pmin= (k ln 2) T Iphys/dt which relates the minimum power to the bit-rate in the information change.

This is a very interesting problem. I suggest that youshould be aware of the difference between energy flows and infromations flows first. The main difficulty of information transmission is pathloss, noise and interference, and that information is not additive in general, bounded by cut set bound. However, energy flows may be added together and then redistributed (do you think so?). May be the this will lead to some modification in their analysis methods.

You are absolutely right. In fact, I have noticed that there are both consistencies and inconsistencies between energy and information. I'd better be careful about that. I am not very familiar in this area, so maybe some fundamental learning are required first.
