you can refer to application of graph coloring section in graph theory books. time tabling is one of the most known application of graph coloring.
First, you should ask yourself whether you really should apply Hyperheuristics. You should find - for yourself or in general - a good reason for it and not be bound for just applying a specific (set of) method(s)!

Hyper-heuristics has been very active in timetabling. Edmund Burke in 2013 did use a hyper-heuristics based on branch and bound method. Pillay (2014) has written a good review about hyper-heuristics and timetabling problems.
Another concern is to identify good benchmarks with which you can compare your solutions with. Otherwise, you may not be able to know how good are your algorithms. Although, your results are likely to be published.
If you are thinking of using an evolutionary hyper-heuristics, you could use a well-known version of GP to generate your algorithms. These could link the Chesc framework or any cross-domain hyper-heuristics.
Ask yourself first "what are trying to achieve?"

Dear @Stefan Voss, @ Patricia Ryser-Welch , i have started research work on university course timetabling problem. At first, i studied heuristic methods for university course timetabling problem . then i come to know about hyper-heuristic that is generalized method and provide general solution. so i studied hyper heuristic and find it interesting and flexible method. this is why, i wish to explore hyper heuristic role for university course timetabling problem. and as you have mentioned about good benchmarks i will further look into too.
