Is there any Even preference in m/z 71 mass fragmentation, and how?

Can anybody explain how is the fragmentation pattern of odd and even carbon number molecules in m/z 71? For example in normal alkane homologs. As I check there is an even preference for m/z 71 to breakdown the molecules.
