I am confusing to decide a solvent to extract pectin from soybean byproduct of tempeh, what journal I read, 2-propanol is most used in pectin extraction from soybean hull but it is hard to find 2-propanol in my area. Otherwise from many kind of pectin sources like fruits use ethanol 96% to extract pectin. Can I used ethanol 96% instead? has it any differences?
