IS code 1892 recommends use of UDS within 2 weeks of extracting from borehole. If this duration exceeds, is there any criteria for calculating loss of moisture and allowable loss.
Is there any reason why you will want to keep the soil sample for more than two weeks?
With loss of moisture a sample transforms from UDS to DS (in fact the earlier you perform lab tests like permeability, shear strength and consolidation on UDS, the more accurate the result). I'm not certain of an allowable moisture loss but a sample with a 10% degree of disturbance may still be considered as undisturbed.
