formaldehyde in different concentrations are used to convert many bacterial toxins
in order to prepare vaccines . Eg:- diphtheria toxins
From what i remember old school..
this comes to mind

It all depends upon what is the end use of the toxoid. If it is to be used for DPT vaccine the HCHO is the best chemical. Other chemicals too work (like Phenol) but its residue is more killing than the toxoid.
If I add a bacterial toxin into certain colonies of other bacteria, will the toxin effect be detrimental against the bacterial colonies? If yes, can I use shiga toxins to neutralize strains of E-coli?
