I want to use sensors in location based services but don't know what will be the purpose of these sensors?

sir!in some papers i read that for location based services RFID tags were used with objects but i want to use sensors so that sensors can sense the behavior of objects or if we use the sensors on the door step of a shop so we can examine that how many customers visits the shop and what they bought by using sensors on the with the stuff too or i can find the location of someone(human) by using the readings of sensors near to him or her?
First of all, you can retrieve the customers and their purchased products information from the POS. If you still want to track the products or a particular customer, you need to attach RFID to every customer and product.
You can use sensors to locate position of customs in a mall, but how will you identify a particular customer, unless you TAG them? Moreover, you need to consider the cost factor. RFIDs are very cheap compared to sensor nodes.
