Some of the tools are relatively basic where as proper analytic software which is geared to the needs of business can be a bit more sophisticated (and of course a lot more expensive).

Your measurement is as unique as your strategy. Make sure your strategy informs your measurement techniques and your measurement techniques inform your tool selection, rather than your tool and its measurement / analytical techniques informing your strategy!
