I need to find out viscous forces acting on the cylinder placed obliquely to the stream of fluid. I could only find the literature which give empirical relations based on experiments. The paper by Sir Geoffrey Taylor on 'Analysis of Swimming of long and narrow animals' (1952) is being used by many researchers till today which has given the relations only based on experiments.
I am interested in simple analytical derivation of those viscous forces.
