While there are many engineering polymers with the physical and material characteristics of PEEK, none of such polymers, with matching strength and/or stiffness, have been approved for permanent implants so far. I would also endorse the previous responses by saying that it is difficult to recommend alternative materials without fully understanding your requirements.
