An unexpected increase in A&E (ED) attendances in England has been in the newspapers for some time with multiple opinions as to the cause(s). See attachment. I would be interested to hear if this trend is also happening in other countries.

No, there is no such trend in our area of Pakistan. The attendance at A&E Department is almost same for last so many years but we do have problems with non-emergent patients coming to A&E and trying to utilize the resources meant for emergent patients. Sometimes it becomes very difficult to convince a patient that he should visit an elective out patient clinic instead of A&E.
