There are many attractants( Like Nonanal, 1 Oct-3-ol, Lactic acid etc.) we can use for trapping mosquitoes, some of them are species-specific. We can use Hay Infusion as a better attractant for trapping mosquitoes especially culex sps.

Dan L. Kline at USDA in Gainesville, Florida was a coworker of mine, who has done many such mosquito and biting fly experiments in this area for over 30 years. We have way too many papers and experiments to list here, but there was always had the problem you mention with CO2 made from propane in Mosquito Magnet traps in remote locations or other fueled traps. Many efforts were made to improve the catch of mosquitoes together with CO2 and the "helper chemical attractants" mentioned above. I have loaded large, heavy CO2 tanks and carried them in a heavy armored truck down the escarpment into the Zambezi River Valley to attract hungry tsetse flies into NZI traps. They are much harder to use than little CDC traps that do not catch all species. Grass, hay and leaf infusions are best for gravid females of some species.

I have the same problem with the logistics of using dry ice. I use 5# CO2 cylinders with tubing placed above the fan of my trap. I tested the longevity of the CO2 and found I could use a single cylinder for two overnight periods. It is best, however, to use a flow meter instead of a gauge to regulate the gas release.

You can use as mentioned above CO2 gaz in small tank. We usually use 6 kg or 10 kg CO2 tank, with gaz pressure regulator coupled with manometer. I set them to 0.7 bar according to Biogents traps instruction manual. You will also need small tubing to reduce gaz flow and drive it from the bottel to your trap.

I use  CO2 gaz in bottle form time to time, either on BGS trap or CDC like mosquito traps. 10kg CO2 bottle could last nearly a couple of week.

Yes, I also think that the best option is yeast and sugar to produce carbon dioxide. Since you need something practical and easy to handle in the field.

The Shannon trap is another good option to catch mosquitoes. It would be good to use several types of traps and attractants so that you can compare the effectiveness of each one.

Yeast and sugar works but produces surprisingly little CO2. A bubble-meter can tell you what is being produced. An improvised bubble meter consists of a small tube from your sealed yeast-sugar water bottle, and an inverted, measured tube of water. Fill it from the bottom to displace water with the bubbles. Others insist that burning a candle is effective, but it takes many candles to produce as much CO2 as one compressed gas tank.
