My study is about assaying ACTH receptor (ACTHR/melanocortin-2R)distribution in the adrenal cortex of sheep. After extensive search of primary antibody catalogues, I could not find anyone stated by the manufacturer to be reactive in sheep.
The antibody below is reactive in Human, mouse and rat:

How do I test its reactivity in sheep without necessarily performing the proposed research?

Hi Davinson,
I would check the homology between the sheep ACTH and the other ones. Then check which epitope the commercial antibody is binding. If it recognizes the same homologous epitope, then you can be sure that it is likly cross-reactive to the sheep ACTH.

@Ahmed Jehanli, thank you for the information. I will check the websites of the companies. However, it's Anti-ACTH receptors (i.e Anti-ACTHR or Anti-MC2R), not ACTH itself.
