I am interested in calcium waves orchestrating repair and to study the contribution of certain calcium waves, I want to inhibit calcium in a very short time period after injury.

I have used BAPTA-AM which inhibits calcium very effectively but obviously give me long-term side effects (I am working in a developing organism in vivo).

I recently discovered Diazo2-AM which shows a strong increase for calcium binding after illumination of light with a certain wavelength - that would be ideal for me, sadly this product has been discontinued.

Is there any alternative I could try or are there other ways of doing so that I haven't thought of?

Thank you for your help.
