Given the current COVID-19 pandemic, people cannot leave the house to have their cardiorespiratory fitness assessed. I know there are a number tests that use a step to assess VO2max. However, all of the step tests I can find require a specific step height. However, steps in a typical home do not match the step height requirements. Likewise, the step heights between homes vary. Is there a step test that can adjust to steps of any height? Perhaps by adjusting the stepping frequency to match the work rate of the test regardless of the the step height.

Thank you for your responses.
