Samples are highly transparent silicale glasses. I'm trying to get images by reflected light microscopy from surface and cross-section.
Orhan, do you might silicate glass? Have you tried darkfield illumination or a polarized microscope? Ken
For ideal glass you can see nothing - flat surface with no features.
For real glass it sometimes very difficult to focus on its surface. You can try to draw a line with a marker on you glass then focus on this line. After focusing you can try to find some features of glass surface, like scrutches, dust particles, etc. Playing with illumination may help, but first - focusing.
Yes silicate glass which has small crystallites precipitated during heat treatment. I am trying to detect those crystallites. I will try your suggestions thank you.
