How can i calculate how much biomethane i would get out of a given volume of raw biogas?
Moreover, is it accurate to assume that if the methane content of biogas is e.g. 70%, then the biomethane energy is 70% of that biogas energy?

the calorific value of pure methane is 7958 kcal/m3, this amount decrease with decreasing in biomethane with other gases in the biogas such as CO2 ; you can calculate energy according to other energy sources for examples: 1m3 of biogas with 60% methane is equivalent to 4713kcal, 0.714L petrol, 0.620L kerosene, 3.474kg firewood, 0.433kg LPG, 0.417L oil, 1.77 m3 col gas, or 4.698 kWh ( the source: Khoiyangbam et al., 2011)

You will get exactly the percent of methane in your biogas sample as biomethane..Generally it is 60-70 percent. The remaining is mostly carbon dioxide with small amounts of hydrogen sulphide, hydrogen, Water vapour etc. What Ms. Rowadaya told is very correct. The calorific value of biogas is roughly 20 mega Joule
