Yes that is right Dr. Mohammed. The particles larger than 63um are easy to separate using PSD but it may be difficult as you said to eliminate the finer one using sedimentation test. Dr. Mohammed is correct. Sieve analysis separates the coarse fraction (Gravel and Sand) form the fine fraction (Silt and Clay). The hydrometer test can provide information about how much clay and silt we have. However, If I understand the question correctly, Mohammed is interested in a practical way to separate them. In this case, Omer is correct and the Centrifuge method should work.
