SCAN (https://scan-bugs.org/portal/) accepts photo contributions and funnels them to GBIF (https://www.gbif.org/), a global information-sharing resource. SCAN focuses on North America but also accepts data from outside of North America. I don't think that individuals can submit data directly to GBIF, so something like SCAN or another recognised partner of GBIF must be used.
Hi Angel. Some of the larger museums in North America and around the world are using VertNet (http://portal.vertnet.org/), Integrated Digitized Biocollections (https://iDigBio.org), and/or Global Biodiversity Information (https://www.GBIF.org).
