There are some beneficial insects ( predators) that can help control thrips, depends what type if system you have and what crop. The predatory mite Stratiolaelaps scimitus has been proven effective, also Atheta coriaria ( Staphylinidae).
Using predators is a preventative method, not a knock down one, so you have to introduce them before thrips population get too high
