In other countries, specialist trained radiologists report findings from cross-sectional (CS) imaging complementary to invasive autopsy. In the UK we still use plain/computed radiography images for bony evidence. One major reason CS imaging is not used is that due to decomposition gases etc. in cadavers, radiological appearances are different to live person imaging. Should we therefore have specialist trained forensic radiologists that report forensic cases for consistency of quality and improved results/information?
