Density and properties of elasticity are vital inputs in transient models in solid media. But I’m interested in simulating a transient model with piezoelectric excitation (Where, I need to input electrical conductivity, dielectric and piezoelectric properties). I have gone through the Abaqus user manual but there is no reference about material property limitations in transient models.
However, do you have any suggestions to use aforementioned properties in a transient model?
Below is what I found in help doc: "The density of the material must be defined (“Density,” Section 21.2.1). The following material properties are not active during a modal dynamic analysis: plasticity and other inelastic effects, rate-dependent material properties, thermal properties, mass diffusion properties, electrical properties (except for the electrical potential, , in piezoelectric analysis), and pore fluid flow properties. See “General and linear perturbation procedures,” Section 6.1.3."
Another suggestion is just to have a try. You will find what you need. As for me abaqus is so complex that I also need to try many different ways to solve a new problems.
