The people with disabilities can become one of the most benefited sections of the society from the Internet technology. These people can be the blind, deaf, physically disabled, old age etc.
Are there any framework, model, guideline or laws that help towards the accessibility of the website on the Internet? If any, What are those?
In my University I know students with disabilities do have access to internet. I don't know any guideline or laws, it will be nice to have those available. Please share with us once you get them

Some information i recently learnt was amazing about a person, Raghav Srinivas Peri, who is blind, but has put up extensive work on access and usage of technologies for disabled persons.
A computer science PhD student at the University of Washington and Digital Accessibility consultant. His research is on mobile device and camera interaction for blind and low-vision people. Also gave lot of information of access of internet for visually impaired.

The US Department of Health & Human Services has developed a set of guidelines to address this.

Another example of guidelines to get websites more accessible are those provided by the W3 Consortium.

Of course there are guidelines for accessibility of interfaces and of websites.
The W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) gives 3 sorts of accessibilty recommendations (guidelines and standards) :
-for the user agent (Explorer, Chrome....) : UAAG
-for the Authoring tool : any software used to develop webites : ATAG
-for the web content itself , WCAG

Most of nations try to respect W3C guidelies if they give importance to accessibility.
Some other countries develop their own recommendations and laws.
Actually I'm working on a project concerning accessibility of websites and accessibility of the tools creating websites.
