Autonomous micro grid can be self sustained independent power system but the position or place of the micro grid may be on-grid ( can be grid connected in this case) or off-grid (in rural and remote areas in this case).  But Isolated micro grid is totally separated from the central power grid system  (can be rural stand alone systems).
