Yes is depend on each family but you can also check Breitmaier´s book 13C NMR Spectroscopy , there are a lot of tables on different natural products classified by types.

An important information are the methyl  peaks.

The important information is methyl carbon signals

If the methyl carbon signals from

(5-7) peaks  >>>>   may be steroids

(3-5) peaks >>>> may be triterpenoids

(1-3) peaks >>>> may be diterpenoids

Also all data must be revised with published in your similar compounds

Characteristic peaks for terpenoids and steriods are generally depends on its structural diversity. Most important things in the structural elucidation of terpeniods are the presence of alcoholic and methyl attachments and total number of carbon atoms. Info about double bonds and other attachments along with HSQC and HMBC experiments will answer ur question bro.....
