Some paper hypothesize that the first phase of ANPND infection is colonization of the stomach by bacteria (Vibrio sp.) causing AHPND, but anyone has presented conclusive evidence of that. We know V. parahaemolitycus density is greater in stomach than hepatopancreas during infection process, but this does not mean that there are a real colonization of the epithelium. To know that is neccesary to apply specialized techniques to prove the hypothesis and, I don´t see such techniques in these papers.

Hi Thanh, I read that paper since time ago. Exactly, V. harveyi and V. parahaemol. can adhere on the inner surface of the digestive tract, including stomach, as well as, almost any Vibrio species can. This capacity is not specific of V. parahemolyticus.
I am not quite sure on this. Therefore I would like to suggest you concern on the pirA-B like toxin and their ability to infect the hepatopancreas of shrimp. Therefore, stomach cell may not infected by these toxin.
Rortana, columnar cells of the shimp stomach are not affected by PirAB toxin, only the epithellial cells of the hepatopancreas
