Can someone explain to me how is it possible that the main editor of Physical review D sends her papers to the very same journal she serve as a main editor ?
it is a major contradiction of interest. Even lawyers know that. She only sends to that journal she edits in:

It's only a singular example, but it's just goes to show, which lack of integrity I was talking about within the ST community.
If that's true, yes. Just ignore it and you submit only to reputable journals for your own excellent reputation :)

These examples of lack of integrity making me doubt whether it's even worth to begin that peer review process. Some of those Physicists are not playing by the rules to say the least.
Can you imagine people like that admitting their mistakes ?

- really there is no essential “contradiction of interest” – and can be no direct “contradiction of interest”, as that is in Christian’s link, https://journals.aps.org/prd/staffMirjam Cvetič [before Physical Review D] “… has served as an editor for Physics Letters B….”
Etc., really, in principle, every author, if wrote some really scientific paper, should be able to publish it independently on – where (s)he worked/works at obtaining the presented in the paper scientific results.
However the thread question

- last decades is indeed really rather, if too, actual.
So, say, that

- looks as rather strange proposition, and not only in that both APS and Elsevier journals above are top-physical, and so are highly reputable, journals.
