Authorship is a crucial issue in the world of science. While some bibliometric indicators, such as IF and H-index, don’t consider the authorship order, are there any bibliometric indicators considering the order of authors in scientific papers? Should the authorship order be considered in ranking scientists?

In many disciplines that the order of the authors has to be according to the contribution, the first author makes the greatest contribution to the scientific paper, the second one make the second greatest contribution and so on, and the last one is often the senior or the supervisor. I wonder whether the author order needs to be considered in ranking scientists (in such disciplines).

Yes, if you can be sure that that was the convention followed:, then the last position is the most prestigious, followed by the first etc.
Remember though that impact factors are to be used for ranking journals, not authors.
