The whole concept of carbon sequestration has weak foundations. The idea that we can increase the amount of carbon entering the soils through natural and technological means is laudable, but there has been no meaningful approach suggested that will not vastly decrease the EROI of society. Based on current economies in the world, it looks like a first-world economy with a large middle class requires and average EROI of something better than about 10:1 - all forms of carbon sequestration is either high in energy use or high in land use, which would mean that sequestration would either a demand significant loss in biocapacity (and hence economic activity) or loss in EROI (and hence economic equity). Neither of which would be easy to adapt to.

Carbon Neutrality is mandatory - in my lifetime, we will have reached peak fossil carbon production, and all growth after that must be achieved carbon- free. The sooner we figure out how to do this, the better off we all will be - our future wealth is wholly dependent on our choices today. But I REALLY don't think that it comes from carbon sequestration. Better is to find ways not to need to use energy, and focus on enhancing quality of life within communities through the non-energetic means. This requires creativity, but it's not 'hard'.

Anything we are doing that enhances quality of life without increasing burdens on our ecosystem could be considered 'green' or 'clean', depending on the details of your definition.
