Are you speaking about "cultural transformation in general of the culture as a whole" or "transformation of the culture within organizations"? Why can't organizations in the digital age transform themselves into a culture that is an extension of the culture as a whole? For example, increased robotization within the workplace of an organization should led to more free time for those working within the organization to build other aspects of that organization.
I think cultural change is always a challenging task but if organisations are able to develop a continuos learning system that can take care of learning behaviour of employees within the organisatio. This can then help with cultural change that may be needed for introducing any technology at any point of time. Cultural transformation is one step further but not difficult for organizations who have developed a system as discussed above.
Very interesting and valuable answer Mr. Gurmeet Singh, but what you've said is related to the direct interactions among employees inside organizations, my question is about indirect interactions
Yes, the organizations have to go through cultural change because of change in technology and sociocultural environment. The cultural transformation is needed for competing in the marketplace. The cultural transformation is not a challenge, but it is a necessity for the survival of the organization in the marketplace.
To some extent "culture" has always been in a flux. However, the speed and frequency of "change" has increased so corporate culture in turn might be required to be more adaptive.
To answer the original question in short: All companies need to assess themselves anew. A degree of flexibility and innovation would certainly help with change readiness and cultural adaption.
The term "cultural adaptation" is problematic in the sense that it can refer to (1) cultural adaptation of the organization to the cultural of the people that have allowed the organization very existence to continue, (2) or the organization's attempt to change the culture of the people who have allowed the organization the very ability to exist within the culture (that is, the organization attempting to change the culture that has allowed its very existence).
