I want to study the alleviation of stress induced by different factors on some avian species. I want to analyse Malondialdehyde, Total antioxidant capacity, Reduced Glutathione, Glutathione Peroxidase, Superoxide Dismutase. Is there any difference concerning the analytical methods between mammalian and avian species especially between human and avian species?
Depending on what type of assay, Yes it is applicable in many of them as the nature of these molecules does not different from species to species.
Some method such as FRAP was developed for plasma that is now replaced by CUPRAC and ORAC method.
I have worked these method on rat used special kits for serum rats ( ELISA kit) different human kit and these assays different depended on the mechanism of generation of different radical species and/or target molecules and in the way end-products are measured
If you used commercially available kits you should flow their procedures carefully generally they do not depend on the type of species wheather it is human or avain but it might differ little bet according to the type of tissue used whole blood plasma ,serum .liver.brain etc

If you are using specific kit, you should follow the manufacture instructions, since they sometime produce the kit to be used for specific fluid , or tissue.
But if you will use the manual method, then first of all you should read carefully the original article that cited the method to look for any restriction by the author of using the method i.e. specific fluid, or tissue, or buffer.......etc. If there isn't any then you can use it and always try on small number of samples & look carefully at the result , if you find them confident then you can carry on with the rest of the samples. Usually it differs in the method of the extraction of the parameter from the tissue or blood while most of the steps will be almost the same
Yes this Methods applicable for all species, but if you have want to estimate in specific tissue it is variable on the basis of protein content.
