Hello, the proliferation of bacterias is only due to the wet environment in the air conditioner with the good temperature, as legionella can proliferate at ambient temperature in stagnant water, this is the most common infection you can found with the air conditioner when there is stagnation of the water. the only way to know if your system is contaminated is to practice microbiological tests of the installation but you can prevent it by cleaning regularly the system, listeria is killed at 60°C so hot water in the system can eliminate the source. the sympômes are those of pneumonia.
